The opportunity
Is to contribute to the development of next generation battery materials development.
You will:
Project Management and Collaboration
- Manage projects and collaborations with universities and European consortia for industry battery development
- Communicate with external partners, clients, universities, and institutes for analysis in Europe
- Work collaboratively in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams
- Liaise with customers, staff, and suppliers
Laboratory Management
- Manage the Electrochemistry laboratory in Sweden for battery material characterization
- Prepare documentation and set up laboratory facilities
- Manage and expand lab accreditation, ensuring facilities run accordingly
- Implement and improve test methods
- Work towards evaluation of electrochemistry quality system
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality accredited laboratory (e.g., ISO 9001/ISO17025)
- Validate methods and equipment
- Maintain awareness of and stay updated on health and safety issues
Research and Development
- Perform daily lithium-ion cell manufacturing and electrochemical testing
- Analyze battery samples from various sources
- Use electrochemical techniques, including:
- Galvanostatic charge/discharge cycler
- Cyclic voltammetry
- Impedance spectroscopy
- Interpret data and adhere to strict documentation guidelines
- Analyze electrochemistry data
- Conduct critical review of data
- Advise on product development
Reporting and Documentation
- Produce high-quality scientific reports
- Generate technical documentation for lab accreditation
- Report internally and externally
- Review customer feedback for Product Development
- Produce reports with scientific results
Professional Development and Outreach
- Present at public conferences
- Publish scientific papers
- Keep up to date with industry developments and best practices
To be successful in the role you must have:
- At least 5 years of industrial experience after completion of your education (Master degree) in equivalent role in electrochemistry laboratory for a lithium-ion cell company.
- Experience in people management is preferred
- Have experience in project management and managing collaborative projects.
- Have practical experience with galvanostatic charge/discharge cycler, cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy.
- Have practical experience and good skills in laboratory electrode and coin/pouch cell fabrication.
- Good understanding on electrochemistry and lithium-ion batteries.
- Strong computer literacy skills with knowledge of MS applications.
